L0 Files Query

The Level 0 (L0) files query area provides filtering options to search the CHEOPS Archive for Level 0 products, using metadata from the files. The following filters are available:

L0 File Types: Multi option selection box containing the list of all L0 file product types. It is possible to choose one or more file types from the list to get selected file types only, or to select the All option to get all archived L0 files.

L0 Start Time: Calendar selection widget for setting the L0 product start time filter. This filter is always used in conjunction with the L0 Stop Time filter. The data type is date and the unit is UTC.

L0 Stop Time: Calendar selection widget for setting the L0 product stop time filter. This filter is always used in conjunction with the L0 Start Time filter. The data type is date and the unit is UTC.

Delete Query

The Delete Query pop-up enables registered users to select previously stored queries to be deleted.

Query Selector: Drop down selection box that lists all the saved user queries. Each selection box row displays the query names and descriptions, separated by a “:“.

Delete Button: Button to delete the selected query from the users preferred queries.

Save Query

The Save Query pop-up enables registered users to store their preferred queries, so they can be re-used.

Query Name: Input text box to introduce a name to the query to be stored.

Query Description: Input text box to introduce a short description to the query to be stored.

Save Button: Button to store the query name, description and the values currently set at the filters.

Open Query

The Open Query pop-up enables registered users to select previously stored queries to be used once more.

Query Selector: Drop down selection box that lists all the saved user queries. Each selection box row displays the query names and descriptions, separated by a “:“.

Open Button: Button to open the selected query, populating the filters of the home page with the loaded information.

Cancel Access

The Cancel Access pop-up window enables registered users to cancel all access delegations to their private observation requests.

Observation Request Selector: Drop down box containing the list of the user observation request identifiers, for which data access delegation has been previously performed and that the users wish to completely cancel all access delegations. The observation request value is composed of the Programme Type, Programme ID and Observation Request ID values, taken from the products metadata. Only one observation request can be selected per cancel operation.

Submit Button: Button to submit the data access delegation cancellation.

Edit Access

The Edit Access pop-up window enables registered users to update access delegations to their private observation requests.

Observation Request Selector: Drop down box containing the list of the user observation request identifiers, for which data access delegation has been previously performed. The observation request value is composed of the Programme Type, Programme ID and Observation Request ID values, taken from the products metadata. Only one observation request can be selected per operation.

Users Selector: Multi selection box, containing the list of all CHEOPS Archive Browser users configured at LDAP. This box is only displayed after an observation request is selected, and contains the previously configured users with access to the data pre-selected on the top of the users list. Multiple users can be added from the list of the remaining users, and the already configured users can also be de-selected on the selection box.

Save Button: Button to save the data access delegation updates

New Access

The New Access pop-up window enables registered users to delegate access to their private observation requests, for other registered users.

Observation Request Selector: Drop down box containing the list of the user observation request identifiers, for which no data access delegation has been performed yet. The observation request value is composed of the Programme Type, Programme ID and Observation Request ID values, taken from the products metadata. Only one observation request can be selected per operation.

Users Selector: Multi selection box, containing the list of all CHEOPS Archive Browser users configured at LDAP. Multiple users can be selected from the list, to delegate them access to the selected observation request.

Download Table Options

This tutorial page presents information on the product download table columns as well as on the operations that can be performed on the table.

Download table columns

File Name: Product physical file name, without extension

File Type: Product file type

Product Level: Product level

Observation Category: Product observation category

Results table operations

Download products: To download the products listed in the download table, the user needs to check the box column for all desired products. Check boxes are only presented for products that the user has permission to download. To download the selected products the user needs to click on the Download button. The selected products are then downloaded from the CHEOPS Archive to a local temporary folder from which a single zip file is created. This can take several minutes. If the zip file is less than 1GB it will be automatically downloaded to the users local computer; if the size of the zip file exceeds 1GB, a window will pop up into which the user should enter the email address to which ftp access coordinates to download the products zip should be sent. The maximum zip file size that can be generated and served is 5GB – a warning message will be displayed if the zip file containing the requested data exceeds this number, in which case the file will be automatically removed from the server. In such cases the user should revise their archive query and reduce the number of products requested for download.

Number of entries: The user can change the number of entries displayed in the product download table by selecting a value from the Show < val > entries selection box displayed on the table top left corner.

Results Filtering: The top right Search box can be used by the user to filter the download table by a desired pattern. Entered filters are applied to all the displayed table columns.

Table Navigation: A maximum of 10, 25, 50 or 100 entries can be displayed per page, depending on the choice of the user. If the number of visits returned by the query exceeds this, then the results table will be split over more than one page. Navigation between the different pages is possible using the Previous and Next buttons.

Reorder table: Data in any given column can be presented in ascending or descending order by clicking on the top of the column (asc/desc).

Results Table Options

This tutorial page presents information about the query results table columns and also about the operations available over the results table.

Results table columns

Visit ID: Visit identifier. The displayed values consist of links which enable access to a product download pop-up window, where all products for a given visit are listed and can be (selected and) downloaded. The displayed values are built up from a concatenation of the following product metadata:

PROGTYPE: the programme type (2 digits)
PROG_ID: the programme id (4 digits, left zero-padded)
REQ_ID: the observation request id (4 digits, left zero-padded)
VISITCTR: the visit counter (2 digits, left zero-padded)

Observation Request: Observation request identifier that a visit refers to. The displayed values are built up from a concatenation of the following product metadata:

PROGTYPE: the programme type (2 digits)
PROG_ID: the programme id (4 digits, left zero-padded)
REQ_ID: the observation request id (4 digits, left zero-padded)

OBSID: Unique identifier of a visit, as set by the Mission Planning System.

Target Name: Name of the observed target.

RA: Target right ascension coordinate value in J2000 and deg units.

DEC: Target declination coordinate value in J2000 and deg units.

Distance: The distance from the target coordinates used in the query in deg units. Not applicable if the target coordinates were not part the query.

Magnitude: Brightness of the target in the Gaia band, unit mag.

Target Effective Temperature: Effective temperature of the target, unit K.

Proprietary Status: Proprietary status of the visit data products. Set as public if all individual observation request products can be accessed publicly, and private otherwise.

Revision: Archive revision number.

Processing Chain Vrs: Version of data reduction pipeline used for processing.

Obs Start: Start of validity time of observation.

Obs Stop: End of validity time of observation.

Results table operations

Open product download pop-up: To open the product download pop-up to view and download the products from a visit, the user needs to click on the visit ID value link.

Number of entries: The user can change the number of entries displayed on the query results table by selecting a number from the Show < val > entries selection box displayed on the table top left corner. A maximum of 10, 25, 50 or 100 entries can be displayed per page. If the number of visits returned by the query exceeds this, then the results table will be split over more than one page. Navigation between the different pages is possible using the Previous and Next buttons.

Results Filtering: The top right Search box can be used by the user to filter the results table according to the desired pattern. The filters entered are applied to all the displayed table columns.

Show/Hide columns: To show (hide) columns in the visit results table, click on the button Select Columns and select (de-select) the columns required.

Export query results: The query results table can be exported as comma separated values (CSV), Microsoft Excel, or printed to paper or pdf using the CSV, Excel and Print buttons at the bottom left corner of the table.

Reference Files Query

The reference files query area provides filtering options to search the CHEOPS Archive for reference file products, using reference files metadata. The following filters are available:

Reference File Types: Multi option selection box containing a list of all the reference files product types. It is possible to choose one or more reference file type from the list to get only the reference files selected, or to select the All option to get all available reference file types.

Observation Based Query

The observation based query area provides filtering options to search the CHEOPS Archive on the basis of observation related metadata. The filters available are the following:

File Key: Input field to filter by the ‘File Key’ of the data. ‘File Keys’ must follow the pattern CH_PRttpppp_TGrrrrii_Vaann, where:
1) tt is the Programme Type
2) pppp is the Programme ID
3) rrrr is the Request ID
4) ii is the Visit Counter
5) aa and nn are the version information: ARC_REV (aa) and REV_NUM (nn)
For example: CH_PR100034_TG000101_V0200
Note 1: No partial ‘File keys’ are supported.
Note 2: When using the ‘File Key’ search field the version information is directly derived from the ‘File Key’. The search field ‘Version’ from the ‘Target Based Query’ parameters is not used in this case.

Program Type: Input field to filter by the type of the program. The data type is integer.

Program ID: Input field to filter by the program ID of this type of program. The data type is integer.

Request ID: Input field to filter by the observation request ID of this program. The data type is integer.

Visit Start Time: Calendar-based selection widget for setting the start of validity time. This filter is always used in conjunction with the Visit Stop Time filter. The data type is date and the unit is UTC.

Visit Stop Time: Calendar-based selection widget for setting the stop of validity time. This filter is always used in conjunction with the Visit Start Time filter. The data type is date and the unit is UTC.

Visit ID: Visit identification made up from the following fields:

PROGTYPE: 2 digits
PROG_ID: 4 digits (left zero-padded)
REQ_ID: 4 digits (left zero-padded)
VISITCTR: 2 digits (left zero-padded)

Name of PI: Auto complete text field to filter by the name of the PI of the observing program. The data type is string.

OBSID: Input field to filter by the identifier of a visit, defined by the MPS. The data type is integer.

Observation Type: Dropdown selection box filter containing the three possible observation type options, Science, M&C (Monitoring and Characterisation) and Engineering.

If the user accesses the Archive Browser adding ?visit-id=< OBSID > to the link, the Observation Request Based Query section will be expanded and the OBSID field will be automatically filled.

Target Based Query

The target based query area provides filtering options to search the CHEOPS Archive on the basis of target related metadata. The following filters are available:

Target RA: Input field to set the requested target Right Ascension (J2000). This field is used together with Target Dec and Radius. The units are deg and the data type is real.

Target Dec: Input field to set the requested target Declination (J2000). This field is used together with Target RA and Radius. The units are deg and the data type is real.

Radius: The radius of the circle centred on the RA/DEC coordinates specified in the RA and DEC input boxes in which the search will be made. This field is used together with Target RA and Target Dec. The units are deg and the data type is real.

Target Magnitude Min: Input field to set a minimum range value to filter observations on the basis of target Gaia magnitude. This field can be used together with the Target Magnitude Max field or not. The unit is mag and the data type is real.

Target Magnitude Max: Input field to set a maximum range value to filter observations on the basis of target Gaia magnitude. This field can be used together with the Target Magnitude Min field or not. The unit is mag and the data type is real.

Target Effective Temperature Min: Input field to set a minimum range value to filter observations on the basis of target effective temperature. This field can be used together with the Target Effective Temperature Max field or not. The unit is K and the data type is integer.

Target Effective Temperature Max: Input field to set a maximum range value to filter observations on the basis of target effective temperature. This field can be used together with the Target Effective Temperature Min field or not. The unit is K and the data type is integer.

Visits Proprietary Status: Dropdown selection box filter containing the options All Data, Public Data Only and Private Data Only, to enable filtering by the data proprietary status. The default value set to this filter is All Data which will retrieve all the data available for the query performed. The options Public Data Only and Private Data Only will retrieve only public or private visits, respectively.

Version: Dropdown selection box filter containing the options Latest and All, to enable filtering by the data version. The default value set to this filter is Latest which will retrieve only the latest version of the data for each visit (the highest revision and the highest processing number of that revision). The option All will retrieve all the data for each visit.
